Karlovy Vary
Karlovy Vary, the world-renowned spa town, lies in the western part of the Czech Republic on the confluence of the River Teplá and River Ohře approximately 120 km from Prague. The characteristic symbol of the town is its multitude of colonnades and warm therapeutic springs. Karlovy Vary is also famous for the typical products that come from here, for example lázeňské oplatky (spa wafers), the bitter-sweet liqueur known as Becherovka (the so-called thirteenth spring),
Karlovy Vary porcelain, mineral waters, Karlovy Vary thermal salts, and so on. The town is surrounded by countless observation towers and viewing points, for example Diana, Charles Viewpoint (Karlova Vyhlídka), and the observation point at Zámecký Vrch. A number of forest pavilions can be found when enjoying a pleasant walk through the surrounding spa forests. These pavilions have been here since the 19th century and are ideal for a spot of relaxation.
