Castle Ostředek

In the western part of a village of the same name there is a Baroque castle from the beginning of the 18th century. In 1739 a Baroque chapel of St. Jan Nepomucký was added to the castle, then in 1765 it was newly decorated. During the 19th century the castle had many owners and in 1844 it was bought by a Prague lawyer and dr. Václav Červinka. After 1945 the castle became a property of the state. On the 21st February 1846 the poet Svatopluch Čech was born at the castle, his father František Jaroslav Čech was the administrator of the castle. Visitors can see the born room of Svatopluk Čech and also a small exposition about his life and work. One part of the areal is also a castle park.
