Lookout Tower Poledník
Poledník, one of the highest tops of the Šumava Mts., 1,314 m high, with the 35 m high lookout tower, on the borders with Germany. The lookout tower is the only preserved part of the former military facilities built around 1970 to control airspace and spy activities - wiretapping of the radio signals in Germany. There are three lookout levels for visitors, 227 steps. All other military facilities have been demolished and removed. Open to visitors since 1998.
