Český Krumlov
This town lies in South Bohemia in the valley of the River Vltava (Moldau) and is known as the pearl of South Bohemia. As an extremely well-known monument reserve, it has been listed in the UNESCO Register of World Cultural Heritage Sites since 1992. The dominant features of the town are its magnificent monuments the Gothic Church of St. Vitus (kostel sv. Víta) and Český Krumlov Chateau - a complex that is one of the most expansive in Central Europe. The area is made up of more
than 40 historic buildings and you are sure to be captivated by the old town, with its winding streets and ancient buildings in the Gothic and Renaissance style, by the multitude of art galleries, shops, and pubs. Also of great note are the summer house, the riding-hall, and the summer theatre with its rotating stage, the Budějovická brána (Budějovice Gate), and the Renaissance brewery. Český Krumlov is approximately 170 km south of Prague and around 22 km from ČeskéBudějovice.
