The city Soběslav lies 18 kilometres south from Tábor on the confluence of the river Lužnice and Černovický stream and it also lies on the road and railway traffic route which connects Tábor and České Budějovice. This evolving town with an area of almost 2000 hectares and 7500 inhabitants is historically connected with the family of Rožmberkové. The first note about Soběslav is from the year 1293 and in 1390 the village got the statute of a town. The region of todays Soběslav is already known since prehistoric ages and there are many historical cultural monuments. There are also many typical rustic buildings in the surrounding villages.
