National Wine Salon of the Czech Republic

The Wine Salon of the Czech Republic is the highest wine competition in the Czech Republic and covers the system of nomination competitions. The competition is followed by the public wine-tasting exposition of the best hundred wines, which is open the whole year round and takes place in the cellarge of the state chateau Valtice. After selecting the Wine Salon CR collection, these wines are purchased in number stated in the status and stored in the cellarge of the National Wine Centre. Here they are available for the public. Wines stored in the Wine Salon CR are intended entirely for promotion of the local viniculture. The general public including foreign visitors have the chance to try the best local wines in one place and in respectable conditions and to gain all important information about every wine and product, represented in the Wine Salon of the Czech Republic, at the same time. It is possible to choose from several degustation programmes - either so-called “free wine-tasting” or one of the programmes supervised by a sommelier. These wines can be purchased, but not in the order of further trading. The wine cellar of the National Wine Centre also houses an exhibition of the local viticulture and wine-growing regions, a gift shop, viticulture literature, wine-tasting glass, sommelier accessories etc.
