Since its establishment in 1969, the museum has been documenting music and literary production, lives of outstanding personalities, local theatres, musical ensembles, local cultural associations, printers and important events of the Banská Bystrica and Brezno regions. Its collections include old prints, archives, writings, music, photographs and works of art, as well as folk and classical music instruments. Open all year round.
